When to Throw the Gambler Stinger

Reach for the Stinger when bass are relating to grass, hydrilla, lily pads, docks, brush, laydowns, or other heavy cover. Its compact design is particularly useful when a larger creature bait creates too much resistance or when fishing pressure calls for a more subtle presentation.

In clear or heavily pressured water, try natural colors such as green pumpkin. In stained water or thick vegetation, darker colors can create a stronger silhouette.

How to Rig It

For flipping and pitching, Texas rig the Stinger with an appropriate worm hook and enough weight to efficiently reach the cover you’re targeting. Increase the weight when punching thick vegetation and reduce it when fishing sparse grass or allowing the bait to fall naturally beside docks and wood.
