The Hookup Lures Flyer is an offshore trolling lure built to add flash, color and a streamlined baitfish/squid profile to a trolling spread. The 6.5-inch version gives anglers another size option for building a trolling spread around target species, forage and sea conditions.
Why anglers choose it
Offshore trolling profile for pelagic gamefish
Can be fished as part of a multi-position trolling spread
Color selection helps anglers adjust to light, water clarity and forage
Useful alone or paired with natural bait where appropriate
How to fish it
Fish the Flyer from a position in the trolling spread where it tracks cleanly. Adjust speed, setback and lure position to sea state and target species, and rotate colors as light and water clarity change.
mahi-mahi, tuna, king mackerel, wahoo and other offshore pelagic gamefish.
Choosing a color
Use natural blue, silver and baitfish patterns in clear water and bright conditions; stronger pink, purple, chartreuse and glow patterns can add visibility in low light, stained water or when fish respond to higher contrast.
Rigging options: Choose Unrigged or 130lb 7/0. Hookup Lures lists these 6.5-inch trolling lures with both rigging choices; the 130lb 7/0 option is the ready-to-fish configuration.
