Hookup Lures Slammer 4.5

The Hookup Lures Slammer is an offshore trolling lure designed to add a compact, active skirted presentation to a saltwater spread. The 4.5-inch version gives anglers another size option for building a trolling spread around target species, forage and sea conditions.

Why anglers choose it

• Built for offshore trolling spreads
• Skirted profile adds movement and color behind the boat
• Multiple colors support clear, stained, bright and low-light conditions
• Works as a complementary lure alongside other trolling profiles

How to fish it

Fish the Slammer from a position in the trolling spread where it tracks cleanly. Adjust speed, setback and lure position to sea state and target species, and rotate colors as light and water clarity change.

Best techniques

offshore trolling, mahi trolling, tuna trolling, king mackerel trolling, spread fishing.

Target species

mahi-mahi, tuna, king mackerel, wahoo and other offshore pelagic gamefish.

Choosing a color

Use natural blue, silver and baitfish patterns in clear water and bright conditions; stronger pink, purple, chartreuse and glow patterns can add visibility in low light, stained water or when fish respond to higher contrast.
