Xcite Baits Raptor Tail Ribbon Tail Worm is available in 7-inch and 10-inch sizes, giving bass anglers a choice between a more manageable full-size worm and an oversized presentation for targeting larger bites. Select the size and color to suit the water, cover, and presentation.
Sizes & Applications
- 7-inch: A versatile size for fishing grass edges, brush, docks, points, and transitions.
- 10-inch: An oversized worm option for working deeper structure, ledges, offshore points, and larger presentations.
Xmark Outdoors — Suggested Rigging
Texas rig: Thread the worm onto an appropriately sized offset worm hook and rig the point weedless. Add a bullet weight appropriate to the depth and cover; pitch to brush or grass edges, allow it to reach bottom, then lift and pause. Check that the hook has enough gap for the chosen worm.
Carolina rig: Place a sliding weight and bead above a swivel, tie on a leader and suitable worm hook, then rig the worm straight. Drag the rig slowly over points, gravel, and offshore transitions while keeping contact with the bottom.
Fishing Techniques & Tips
Start with slow lifts, short hops, and pauses around cover. In deeper water, drag the worm over hard-bottom changes or ledges. Try natural colors in clear water and higher-contrast colors when visibility is limited. The 10-inch size is useful when you want a larger profile; use the 7-inch size when fish prefer a less bulky presentation.
Recommended Rigging & Pairings
Pair with an appropriately sized worm hook, bullet weight, or Carolina-rig terminal tackle. Hook size and weight depend on the specific worm, cover, depth, and fishing line; check fit before fishing.
